This Texas girl recently spent a week in the Big Apple. It was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop me from soaking up much needed inspiration. There's something so magical about New York City -- you can't help but tap into your inner mogul and want to make major moves. Jay is absolutely right -- if you can make it in the city that never sleeps, you truly can make it anywhere.
For the next 4 days, I will be sharing with you some tips on how to tap into your own empire state of mind.
Here's your fourth tip --
What you put out there comes back tenfold.
Like for real for real. I love the saying, "What you look for, you find." Simple and oh so true. There's this stereotype that New Yorkers are anything but nice. That has NEVER been my experience. Seriously. I have had some of the best customer service experiences in New York City and people relating experiences. Period. Like a moth to a flame, like a magnet attraction, you do have the power to call into your life that which you most want to experience. Don't get it twisted: bad stuff happens. However, I truly believe that we have the opportunity to vibrate higher and to see how that vibration attracts experiences of equal or greater vibration.
YT Pro Tip: I love acronyms, so I'm going to throw out ECAS -- "eye contact and smile." Your challenge, should you choose to accept, is -- for the next week, make eye contact with three complete strangers throughout your day. When your eyes meet theirs, part your lips and show your teeth (otherwise, known as a smile). Hold for three seconds. You don't have to say anything. You don't have to go past three seconds. Just do it. No expectations. No obligation. Just ECAS. They may respond in kind or they may blow you off. That is not your concern. You just ECAS and keep it moving.
In a city as big as New York, you are guaranteed to have a diverse plethora of experiences. Activate your ECAS to increase the odds that your experiences with others are rich and vast.
Your soul is rooting for you and so am I.
